PERU: Turning to Israel for skills and strategy against SL

Another attack by Sendero Luminoso (SL) guerrillas has found the Peruvian military still bereft of the promised new counter-insurgency strategy. The government, however, has hired a private Israeli security firm, Global CST [Comprehensive Security Transformation], to train the military in counter-insurgency skills, in the hope that the results will be similar to those it has achieved in Colombia. Its owner, a former top Israeli general has reportedly vowed to 'deactivate all terrorist activity in the VRAE'.
