BRAZIL: Lula walks tightrope on US relations
Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva had a phone call with his US counterpart Donald Trump on 26 January. The call marks an attempt to deepen relations with the US, but it also comes days after Lula had a call with China’s President Xi Jinping and after Lula had criticised Trump’s Board of Peace initiative.
