Raquel Caballero de Guevara has been chosen by El Salvador’s 84-member unicameral legislature, which is controlled by President Nayib Bukele’s Nuevas Ideas (NI), to replace Apolonio Tobar as the country’s new human rights ombudsman (PDDH) for a three-year term.
