BRAZIL | 'Islamic terrorists watched'. A group of about 20 people suspected of links with Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad have been watched by the Brazilian authorities for the past three years, according to a report published by the newspaper Folha de São Paulo. Alerted by the US, surveillance has been entrusted to the national intelligence agency, Abin, and the federal police, says the newspaper, which adds that all of them are Brazilian nationals who have converted to Islam, and who reside in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, the southern state of Paraná and northeastern regions.
