BRAZIL: Opposition files suit against Lula and Rousseff

The opposition Partido da Social Democracia Brasileira (PSDB) and its ally Democratas (DEM) brought a case against President Lula da Silva and his chief of staff, Dilma Rousseff, before the supreme electoral court (TSE) this week. They accuse Lula of using the state machine to endorse Rousseff as his political heir and start the 2010 presidential campaign ahead of time.
