DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Medina courts Brazil and Colombia

President-elect Danilo Medina returned to the Dominican Republic last week after conducting a seven-day visit to Brazil and Colombia. Medina’s mission was to try and stump up foreign investment in the country, as well as technical and financial support for his campaign promises to fight poverty, improve social welfare and overhaul the education and energy sectors. Medina takes office on 16 August.
