COLOMBIA: Poor editing triggers political crisis

Some weeks ago President Juan Manuel Santos was adamant that the Colombian congress should approve the constitutional reform bill relating to the judicial branch, which had become the flagship law of the legislature’s second session (2011-2012) during his administration; however, Santos now wants congress to hold extraordinary sessions this week (27-28 June) to reject the bill touted as a crucial initiative less than a fortnight ago.
