BRAZIL: Hopes for beef sales to China

President Lula da Silva began his trip to China on 23 May. The visit has sparked great media interest and the pressure is on both countries to show that it will deliver tangible results. The Brazilian minister for foreign trade, industry and development, Luiz Furlan, floated the idea on 23 May that China is likely to allow Brazil to export beef and other meats to China.
