COLOMBIA: Bank holds rates, but...

The Banco de la República de Colombia held interest rates at its 25 January meeting, but a poor inflation figure for the month points to another rise in rates at its February meeting. Indeed, in January, the speculation had been that the bank might have cut rates in order to keep the economy humming, given the problems in the US economy.
