In brief: Brazil’s vehicle production rises in August

*Brazil’s national association of vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea) has released the latest monthly production figures, which showed a total of 271,160 vehicles produced in August. This marks a 6.8% increase compared to the 254,002 vehicles produced in July and a 9.4% increase compared to 247,918 units produced in August 2025. According to an Anfavea press release, this latest result is the highest monthly production figure since the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. Anfavea also released the latest figures for sales and exports, with 275,122 vehicles sold in the domestic market and monthly exports totalling 39,791 units in August this year. The latest domestic sales figure is down 1.6% in monthly terms but up 22.1% year-on-year. Meanwhile, exports in August were up 2.2% compared to July but down 31.7% compared to August 2025.
