HAITI: GSF mandate begins days after massacre
The first contingent of the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) arrived in Haiti from Chad on 1 April. The scale of the challenge they face was laid bare just days earlier. In a grim reminder of the extreme violence besetting the country, at least 70 people were killed in a massacre in the department of Artibonite carried out by the Gran Grif armed gang.
