PANAMA: Landmark corruption trial begins
On 12 January Panama’s former president Ricardo Martinelli (Cambio Democrático, 2009-2014) was among more than 20 former top officials to go on trial for alleged money laundering in relation to the case involving Brazilian construction firm Odebrecht - since renamed Novonor.
