Protesters took to the streets across Mexico on 25 November to mark the United Nations (UN) International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The same day, President Claudia Sheinbaum presented 10 actions that her government is taking to promote the eradication of violence against women and girls, including the standardisation of legislation and launch of awareness raising campaigns. While Sheinbaum has previously unveiled measures to tackle gender violence, it remains a major problem in the country, along with wider attitudes towards women.
