Argentina: seeking low regulation to attract investors
In December 2023 Argentina transitioned from a centre-left Peronist (Partido Justicialista – PJ) government to a far right, pro-market administration under Javier Millei. Some AI bills and draft regulations initiated before that date may not progress further for political reasons. But Millei’s vision of a hands off, lightly regulated sector may also face obstacles, since no party currently controls an outright majority in congress.
