Mexico: slow development

As the second largest Latin American economy, sharing a border with a technology powerhouse to the north, it might be expected that Mexico would be a leader in the regional AI race. However, development has been rather slow, suggesting that the government of President Claudia Sheinbaum is not prioritising AI. There has been significant discussion, but no major government-backed AI laws or regulations are in force.
