CHILE: Copper exports surge as investments pay off

In recent years Chile’s all-important copper industry seemed to have lost steam, while all the attention was on the promising lithium potential in the Andes [EB-24-07]. Now the shoe seems to be on the other foot. Copper is seeing somewhat of a revival, as lithium is advancing slower than expected on weaker prices and tepid demand for electric vehicles.
