VENEZUELA: Could Trump be Maduro’s economic lifeline?

When Nicolás Maduro was inaugurated in January for his third term as president of Venezuela, the country with the world’s largest proven oil reserves was drifting back towards economic chaos. GDP is slowing, inflation mushrooming, and the threat of tougher sanctions remains due to allegations of fraud in the July 2024 election.
