ARGENTINA: Buoyed by economy, Milei eyes political challenges

Argentina’s President Javier Milei has made considerable progress in recent weeks in his efforts to fix his country’s troubled finances and kickstart the economy. Inflation in December remained below 3% for the third consecutive month, government data showed on 14 January. Consumer prices rose 2.7% for the month and 118% for 2024, compared with 25.5% and 211%, respectively, a year earlier.
