The Caracas office of the United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is set to reopen, nearly a year after Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro expelled its staff in February. Without providing specific details, the UN high commissioner for human rights, Volker Türk, said on 9 December that the OHCHR has “been able to resume partly our activities” in Venezuela.
