BRAZIL: Police accuse Bolsonaro of plotting coup

Brazil’s federal police (PF) filed two reports to the attorney general’s office (PGR) earlier this year recommending charges against former president Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2023) for money laundering and falsifying vaccine records. But by far the most serious charges were presented last week in a third report, subsequently made public on 26 November, accusing the far-right former president and his allies of plotting a military coup to remain in power after his 2022 election defeat to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
