MEXICO: Anti-corruption ministry unveiled

On 17 October President Claudia Sheinbaum announced the creation of a ministry of anti-corruption and good governance, which will be headed up by Raquel Buenrostro, the federal comptroller. The Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena) government claims the new ministry, which is effectively a rebrand of the ministry of public administration (SFP), will end corruption and impunity. However, serious challenges lie ahead.
