CHILE: Boric addresses rise of far-right on Europe tour
Chile’s President Gabriel Boric delivered a keynote speech in Berlin on 11 June urging democracies to take action to combat the rise of far-right parties globally. Just two days before his speech at a forum organised by the progressive Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) foundation in the German capital, far-right parties significantly expanded their presence in the European parliament in elections across the European Union, notably in France and Germany itself, where the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), excelled.
