BRAZIL: New electoral czar reiterates disinformation warnings
Cármen Lúcia Antunes Rocha, a judge on the superior electoral court (TSE) who also sits on the supreme court (STF), was sworn in on 3 June as the next TSE president. She takes over from fellow STF justice Alexandre de Moraes, who is also stepping down from the TSE. In her speech at the inauguration ceremony, Antunes Rocha highlighted the need to combat the rise of online disinformation ahead of the municipal elections in October, which was a priority of the TSE under De Moraes’ leadership.
