Finance minister upbeat on Mexican economy. On 9 April Mexico’s finance minister, Rogelio Ramírez de la O, gave a speech at the 33rd Mexican Insurers’ Convention hosted by Mexico’s association of insurance institutions (AMIS), in which he said that, while challenges have intensified due to global events and changes, the Mexican economy had maintained a solid development. He said that these challenges were unpredictable and ranged from escalations in geopolitical conflicts to climatic phenomena, whose effects reached households, companies, and governments.
