Compare and contrast: Milei and Noboa
There is an interesting comparison to be made between Milei’s initial experience and that of Ecuador’s new centre-right president, Daniel Noboa. Noboa, a prominent businessman, claims like Milei to be a political outsider. By an accident of timing, both took office within little over two weeks of each other. Noboa was sworn in in a ceremony in Quito on 23 November, marking his first 100 days in office on 2 March 2024. Milei took office a little later, on 10 December in Buenos Aires, completing his first 100 days on 19 March 2024.
