PERU: Government hardens stance on migration
Peru’s President Dina Boluarte signed an executive decree on 14 November which expedited the process for the deportation of illegal migrants. Those found to be living in Peru without the correct documents can now be expelled from the country within 48 hours, in Boluarte’s latest shift towards right-wing and populist policies.
