*Nicaragua’s central bank (BCN) has released new figures which show GDP growth for the third quarter of 2023 was 6.2% year-on-year, up from 3.9% registered in 2Q 2023. This brings accumulated growth in the first three quarters of 2023 to 4.5%. In seasonally-adjusted quarterly terms, the country’s GDP grew 2.4% in the third quarter of 2023 compared with the previous quarter. According to the BCN, year-on-year growth in Q3 was driven by electricity (28.7%), hotels & restaurants (21.5%), exploitation of mining & quarrying (14.2%), trade (9.7%), construction (8.8%), and financial intermediation & related services (7.5%).
