* Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has stated that Canada wants to see “a strong and growing Mexican economy” under the framework of the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Trudeau was speaking at a press conference following a meeting with Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) summit in San Francisco. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed opportunities for economic cooperation and growth, with a focus on investment and job creation. A statement from Canada’s government noted that Trudeau had also expressed his appreciation for Mexico’s support in preparation for Canada’s hosting of the 2024 North American Leaders’ Summit (Nals).
