ECUADOR: Noboa names finance minister
Ecuador’s president-elect, Daniel Noboa, announced on 6 November that the economist Sariha Moya will be his finance minister after he takes office on 20 November. Moya, who for the past six years has held high-ranking positions in the interior ministry’s planning department, will be tasked with delivering Noboa’s goal of boosting employment in order to deliver growth – a strategy which he also believes will help contain a dramatically worsening violent crime wave.
