Just three weeks after signing a ceasefire agreement with the government, the Estado Mayor Central (EMC) alliance of dissident units of the demobilised Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc) announced on 5 November that it was suspending its participation in peace negotiations.
