On 2 October the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) authorised the deployment of an international security mission to help Haiti’s police force in the battle against gang violence. Key members of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) are to join the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission which is to be led by Kenya.
