* Argentina’s economy ministry has announced that the country posted a primary fiscal deficit of Ar$380.5bn (US$1.09bn) in September. This is up from a primary deficit of Ar$36.96bn in August. In a statement, the economy ministry highlighted the impact that this year’s drought has had on Argentina’s finances, which has resulted in a fall in export tax revenues from the agriculture and livestock sector. The economy ministry that in the first nine months of the year, the collection of export duties by the national government had dropped by Ar$1.1trn (0.7% of GDP) with respect to budgeted projections.
