* Chile’s central bank (BCCh) has published the August figures for its monthly index of economic activity (Imacec), which shows a 0.9% decline on August 2022. In monthly seasonally adjusted terms, the Imacec fell by 0.5%. The results represent another month of decline in the Imacec, which is considered an advance estimate of GDP, following a yearly increase of 1.8% and monthly inrease of 0.3% in July which broke a streak of five consecutive months of decline. According to the BCCh, the annual decrease was driven by the fall in services (-1.2%), partially offset production of goods (+2.1%). The drop in monthly terms was determined by the performance of services (-0,9%).
