BRAZIL | Copom unlikely to intensify interest rate cuts. The monetary policy committee (Copom) of Brazil’s central bank (BCB) decided to lower the benchmark interest rate (Selic) from 13.25% to 12.75% in its 19-20 September meeting. In the meeting minutes released on 26 September, Copom continued to urge caution going forward.
