BRAZIL: Police agree plea bargain with Bolsonaro aide
Mauro Cid, the aide-de-camp of the right-wing former president Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2023), has been held in preventative detention since May for his alleged participation in a scheme to falsify vaccine records, but on 9 September the supreme court (STF) authorised his provisional release. He had reportedly agreed a plea bargain with the federal police (PF), which has been pursuing several investigations involving Bolsonaro’s inner circle.
