* Paraguay’s President Santiago Peña has announced he is sending a bill to congress to establish “extraordinary management measures for public finances”. On social media, Peña said the bill was aimed at ordering public finances, reactivating key sectors of the economy, and ensuring the wellbeing of Paraguayans. In particular, the bill aims to honour debts inherited from previous administrations, mostly with companies in the construction and health sectors. “This measure reflects the firm commitment to carry out an orderly and responsible government,” said Peña in a statement.
