Concerns build over prospect of Kenya-led mission in Haiti

A Kenyan delegation recently visited Port-au-Prince to consider the possibility of leading an international police deployment to Haiti to tackle insecurity – a situation which continues to worsen as gangs exploit the power vacuum left by the July 2021 assassination of President Jovenel Moïse (2017-2021). However, concerns persist regarding the prospect of such a mission for which the United Nations (UN), the US, and other members of the international community have expressed backing [WR-23-33].
