*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new figures which show that the country registered a trade deficit of US$881m in July 2023, significantly down from the US$6.24bn deficit registered in July 2022. Total exports in July 2023 were US$47.55bn, up 2.9% on the same month in 2022. Imports in July were US$48.43bn, down 7.7% on July 2022. In the first seven months of 2023, the trade deficit was US$7.23bn, down from US$19.04bn in the same period in 2022. Total exports in the first seven months of 2023 were US$339.52bn, while total imports were US$346.74bn.
