COLOMBIA: Odebrecht case reprised

The Odebrecht corruption scandal has once again been revived in Colombia, where on 17 August Attorney General Francisco Barbosa announced that criminal charges would be brought against 55 people accused of bribery offences linked to the Brazilian construction giant. Among the accused is Odebrecht’s former CEO Marcelo Odebrecht, recently released from prison in Brazil, prompting former directors at the company to warn that they are considering ceasing their collaboration with investigators.
