BRAZIL | Threat of inflation. After Brazil’s national statistics institute (Ibge) registered a slowdown in inflation every month since March and even saw deflation in June (-0.08%), the month of July registered an inflation rate of 0.12%. The Ibge released July’s inflation figures on 11 August, which also showed that the accumulated inflation rate in the 12 months to July was 3.99%, up from the 3.16% in June.
