MEXICO | Remittances continue to rise. On 1 August, Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) announced that remittances to Mexico totalled US$5.57bn in June 2023, an 8.3% increase year-on-year. In the first six months of 2023, remittances totalled US$30.24bn, a 9.9% increase on the US$27.52bn received in the same period last year. Remittances continue to be on track to surpass the record US$58.49bn received last year.
