* Brazil’s national council of coffee exporters (Cecafé) has released its latest monthly report, which showed that 2.99m sacks of coffee (one sack = 60kg) were exported in July. This marks an increase from the 2.64m sacks exported in June and from the 2.52m exported in July 2022. In a statement, Cecafé’s president, Márcio Ferreira, pointed to the strong performances of canephora coffee varieties, such as conilon and robusta. Brazil exported 505,153 sacks of canephora coffees in July this year, marking a 245.4% yearly increase. However, in terms of the overall accumulated export figures for 2023, Brazil exported 19.2m sacks from January to July, down 14.7% from the first seven months of 2022.
