CHILE: Corruption may undermine proposed fiscal pact

In a nationwide speech on 1 August, Chile’s President Gabriel Boric called on his political opponents to “come out of their trenches” and support his proposed US$8bn “fiscal pact”. But controversies over ministerial-level corruption are likely to hold back any quick agreement.
