The stalled investigation into one of Brazil’s most high-profile political assassinations in recent years, the murder of Rio de Janeiro city councillor Marielle Franco in 2018, has seen some progress. On 24 July, federal police (PF) arrested another alleged conspirator in Franco’s murder, a former fireman, Maxwell Corrêa.
