PERU: Boluarte facing new allegations of wrongdoing
Peru’s President Dina Boluarte is facing fresh allegations of misconduct after Rosa Gutiérrez, who recently served as health minister and as president of the country’s social security institute (EsSalud), accused her of lobbying for the reinstatement of an official who was fired on suspicion of corruption. The allegations against Boluarte have reportedly triggered a preliminary investigation by the attorney general’s office.
