*Argentina’s economy minister, Sergio Massa, and the president of the Latin American development bank (CAF), Sergio Diaz-Granados, have agreed a loan for US$200m to build the aqueduct for social and productive development in Argentina’s north-eastern Formosa province. The project will include the construction of an intake on the Paraguay River and a main aqueduct to carry water to distribution points for human consumption as well as productive purposes such as agriculture. Massa tweeted that “[the project] is an investment for inclusive and federal development, which benefits 48,000 inhabitants and supplies water to 40,000 hectares [of land] across 2,000 sites.”
