In brief: Inflation continues to drop in Paraguay

* Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has announced that the monthly inflation rate in June was -0.3%, down from 0.0% in May and 0.4% in April. This brought the annual inflation rate to 4.2%, close to the central bank’s target of 4%. For comparison, year-on-year inflation in May was registered at 5.1%, and in June last year it was as high as 11.5%. Core inflation, which excludes fuel, utilities and some food items, was running at a monthly rate of 0.1% in June this year.
