Chaves under pressure over education funds in Costa Rica
Thousands of people took to the streets last week in Costa Rica’s capital San José, calling for the government led by President Rodrigo Chaves to increase the national fund for higher education (FEES) by 1%. They claim he is breaking a promise he made upon taking office in May 2022.
