* Colombia’s corporate regulator (Supersociedades) has announced that the liquidation process has begun for the budget airline Viva Air, which collapsed in May after the Colombian airline Avianca pulled out of a planned merger. Supersociedades stated that Viva “has shown that it does not have the capital, the liquidity, the assets, or the personnel needed to achieve its economic recovery,” and that it had therefore been unable to follow a recovery plan proposed by the regulator.
