* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released its latest monthly survey of commercial enterprises, showing that retail sales grew by 1.5% in monthly terms in April 2023. This increase was significantly greater than expected, with analysts polled by news agency Reuters having forecast a 0.2% rise. Inegi also stated that retail sales in April increased by 3.8% in yearly terms.
